The Polar Shades story begins in 1995, when the sweltering sun of the Las Vegas valley entered into homes, passing through the best interior blinds and drapes available. Southern Nevada residents were looking everywhere for a high-quality exterior shade. Steve Mevius, a Vegas native, went to work building a business that blended excellent window-covering solutions with a streamlined installment team – all at an affordable price. Before long, the Polar Shades brand was born.
Their business has since grown to employ more than 90+ employees in a leading manufacturing facility. They have invested in computerized fabric cutting tables, RF and Impulse fabric welding machines, and inspection hoists to ensure every product made meets their impeccable standards.
Shades can span widths up to 24’ and heights up to 16’, with coupled systems covering widths up to 40’. Guide systems to secure the shade-fabric include Cables or Tracks. Or, when the priority is keeping unwanted pests and insects away from your outdoor living space, you can use their revolutionary ZipRite Shade track, which forces the fabric to be locked into the track at all times.
